Suryanar Koil is located about 1Km from Tirumangalakkudi which lies between Kumbakkonam and Mayavaram in Tamilnadu. This temple is dedicated to the Sun God and also includes shrines for the other eight celestial bodies. It is in close proximity to the Shivastalams of Tirumangalakkudi and Kanjanur (Sukrasthalam). Though there are shrines for Lord Surya in many temples this is the only temple dedicated exclusively to the Lord. In the sanctum, Brihaspati(Guru) is depicted as performing puja to Lord Suryanarayana. The temple was was built by the Chola kings.The temple faces the west. The presiding deity is Suryanarayana. There are shrines to Kasi Vishwanath, Visalakshi and Brihaspati(Guru) within the sanctum while shrines for the other celestial bodies are located outside.The Kol Theertha Vinayakar shrine is considered very important.
Significance
Malefic effects due to Dasa bukthi and gochara will be nullified by worshipping here. Also, obstacles and hardship due to Sade Sathi, Ashtama Shani and Janma Shani will be resolved by offering worship at the temple for two months.

Kailasanatha Temple (Chandra Sthalam)

The Navagraha Sthalam is called Kailasanathar Temple and has a shrine for Lord Chandran,the moon,and is located in Tingaloor about 8Km from Tiruvaiyaru near Thanjavur in Tamilnadu. This ancient Saivite shrine is associated with Appoodi Adigal a resident of the village who was devoted to Tirunavukkarasar one of the 63 Nayanmars (saivite saints). Appoodi Adigal who worshipped Tirunavukkarasar had an opportunity to host the saint when he visited Tingaloor. As the saint prepared to eat Apoodhi Adigal's son was bitten by a snake and died. However,Apoodhi Adigal continued to serve the saint without revealing the tragedy that had befallen the family.The saint was moved by his devotion and is said to have restored the boys life by singing songs in praise of Lord shiva at the Thingaloor temple.This collection of ten songs came to be known as "Thirupathikam". In the months of Puratasi (September - October) and Panguni (March-April), Moon's rays are said to fall on the Lingam.


Vaideeswaran Koil (Angaraka Sthalam)

The presiding deity, Sri Vaidyanathaswamy, is hailed as the healer of all ills. The Lord came here as a Vaidya and cured Angaraha of leprosy. Among the Navagrahas, Angaraha is worshipped here with great reverence. Hence this shrine is also known as Angaraha Kshetra. Jatayu, Rig Veda, Muruga and Surya worshipped the Lord here. The temple is located in Vaitheeswaran Koil near Sirkali, in Tamil Nadu.

Sri Swetaranyeswarar Temple (Budhan Sthalam)

The Swetaranyeswarar Temple, popularly known as the Budhan Sthalam is one of the Navagraha Temples of Tamilnadu and is located at Tiruvenkadu near Mayavaram. Tiruvengadu is about 10Kms from Vaitheeswaran Koil and Sirkazhi. The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva and is known as Venkaatunadar and Sri Swetaranyeswarar. His consort(Ambal) is called Bhrama Vidya Nayaki.
Budhan(Mercury) is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva at this temple. The shrine for Budhan is placed outside the shrine of Ambal.This temple is known for it's three murthi's, three theerthams(tanks), three Shakthi's, and three Vrikshams(trees). Aalamaram ,Vilvam & Konrai are the "sthala vriksham"(holy trees) found here.The Aalamaram here is also known as the Akshayavadam (infinite or indestructible banyan tree).One of the three deities is Aghoramurthy or Aghora Veerabhadramurthy the most fierce among the five representations of Lord Shiva.This form of Shiva is worshipped with special pujas on Sunday nights.There are several shrines of significance including those to Durga and Kali.The saints Appar,Sundarar,Sambandhar and Manikavasagar have sung in praise of this temple.
Significance
Lord Shiva is believed to possess three eyes - Chandra, Surya and Agni. Since the tanks are blessed by them the Theertham(tanks) are called Soma Theertham ,Surya Theertham and Agni Theeertham.Bathing in these tanks and worshipping the Lord here for one "mandalam" (45 days) is believed to relieve couples from problems related to childbirth.


Aabathsahayeswarar Temple (Guru Sthalam)

The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Aabathsagayeswara or Aranyeswara, a Swayambu Lingam, and the Goddess is Umai Ammai. There is a separate sanctum for the special deity Sri Dakshinamurthi. Being a Guru Kshetra, Thursdays attract a large number of pilgrims and special pujas are performed. There are about 15 Theerthas (water bodies) in the temple. Guru, the preceptor of the devas is held in high esteem in the temple. The temple is called Alangudi, and is located near Needamangalam, in Tamil Nadu.



Agneeswarar Temple (Sukiran Sthalam)

Lord Vishnu worshipped Agniswara, the presiding deity here, to rid Himself of Shukra Dosha. The divine consort is Karpagambal. Fridays are very auspicious, and devotees offer white flowers to the Lord. Sukra, one among the Navagrahas is the presiding deity of the temple. The temple lies in the vicinity of the Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu.



Darbaranyeswarar Temple (Sani Sthalam)

The siva temple is dedicated to Sri Dharabaranyeswara. King Nala attained emancipation here from the hardships and miseries to which Sani subjected him. Enshrined within the temple is Saniswara, the presiding deity. The devout believe that they can get rid of their curses and spells of bad luck if they pray in this temple. Pilgrims take a dip in the Nala Theertha and offer worship at the temple. The worship here includes lighting holy lamps with til (gingelly) seeds and oil. After prayers, balls of cooked rice are offered to the Crow, the mount of Saniswara. The festival Sani Peyarchi, which occurs once in two and a half years, attracts thousands of pilgrims. On this day, Saturn moves from one Rasi to another. The temple is located in Thirunallar, near Karaikal, in Tamil Nadu.

Sri Naganathaswamy Temple (Rahu Sthalam)

The Shiva shrine is dedicated to Sri Naganathaswamy. His consort is Giri Gujambika, is enshrined with Lakshmi and Saraswati by Her side. Rahu, the presiding deity worshipped the Lord here on Sivarathri day to redeem himself from the curse of a rishi. Sundays are very auspicious and devotees perform milk abhishekam to Rahu, who is enshrined with His consorts. A noteworthy feature is that the milk turns blue. A dip in Soola Theertha is said to cure one of diseases and give prosperity. The temple of Sri Rahu is located in Thriunageshwaram, near Kumbakonam, in Tamil Nadu.


Naganatharkoil (Kethu Sthalam)

Vasuki, the King of Serpents, did penance and worshipped Lord Shiva here. Planet Kethu, considered the bestower of Gnana, is worshipped in a separate shrine. Kethu brings prosperity to the devoteees family, removes the effect of snakebite and illness arising out of poisonous matter entering onees body. He grants good health, wealth, cattle and prosperity. Lunar and solar eclipses are said to occur because of Rahu and Kethu. The temple of Sri Kethu, lies in Kizhaperumpallam, situated near Poompuhar, In Tamil Nadu.

Agatheeswara Temple

The Agastheeswara Temple is situated near Chennai, behind the Chennai airport, at a distance of 2 Km. from Pallavaram railway station. This is the only place in North Tamil Nadu, among the Thondai Mandala Navgraha Parihara Sthalam dedicated to Saturn. 
Lord Shani(Saturn)has different phases like Kanda Sani, Janma Sani, Ezharai Sani. Sri Sani bhagavan is said to have been relieved of his sins by performing penenace to Lord Shiva. As directed by Lord Shiva he visited this village and created a holy pond called “Nallar Sani Theertham” and worshipped Lord Shiva and was cleansed of his sins. Hence he is seen in this temple as the prime God (only next to Thirunallar). In the north Tamil Nadu this is the only temple dedicated to Lord Sani where devotees throng in large numbers to get relief from the impact of Sani.
In this temple,when offerings of food are made, crows (that are believed to be the vehicle of Lord Shani)come in large numbers to eat the food offered. During this time,devotees gather in large numbers and feed the crows to get themselves relieved of their sins.
This is an ancient temple in which there is a Swayambu Lingam and was built during the 12th century when Chozha kings were ruling the land.When saint Agathiya returned from Himalayas to Podhigai hills, he stayed here for a short while and worshipped here and hence the deity here came ot be known as Agatheeswarar and the goddess Aananthavalli. 
In this temple, the presiding deity faces the east and the Goddess faces the south direction. In the month of Chitirai,on the dates 7,8,9 when the sun rises in the east, its rays fall only on the Sivalingam, which is inside this temple and there is a entrance gate to this temple facing North.

Suyambu Sri Saneeswara Bhagavan Temple

Saturn or Lord Shaneeswar in Swayambu form is the presiding deity at the temple in  Kuchanur and is known as Kuchanooran. The temple is located on the banks of the river Surabhi at Kuchanoor in Theni District of Tamilnadu. In most temples Lord Shani in seen with the other Navagrahas while here is present in a seperate shrine. According to a legend, King Dinakaran of "Kulinga"  was advised by his son Chandravathana that he was suffering from Sade Sathi(seven and a half-years) which could be overcome by praying to the Lord.  Chandravathanan performed penance in the forest and the lord impressed by his devotees's prayer appeared before him here.
